THE BAND

CHOTOKOEU was born as a percussion band with Brais and Rubén in the mid-2007. Gradually, more musicians will be added into the project beginning this way its journey through bars and festivals of Galicia. It will be in 2009 when they won the Galiza Crea contest, event that reflects the good way the band was following. The next years they will take their music wide open bars and festivals of their region like Pardiñas, Millo Verde, Reperkusión, etc. Little by little, and without realizing it, a new musical family starts taking form of a different and unique project.

2012 is a key year in Chotokoeu’s life. The band arrives with a lot of work behind, giving a musical and organizational boost to their project, what makes them create and original and powerful live show, with theatre and juggling, trying always to surprise the audience with something new. In February they have their first opportunity to present the new show with a well known Spanish band, La Pegatina, in the most famous venue of Galicia, Sala Capitol in Santiago de Compostela. With the great answer from the crowd, they start thinking about taking their music outside Galicia, confirming this way their first European tour. They will finish this year with more than 60 concerts in 6 countries: Germany, Holland, Belgium, Italy, England and Spain, playing in very important festivals like “Fusion Festival” in Germany or “Irie Vibes” in Belgium.

In 2013 they record their first album “Chotokoeu”. They are very excited about presenting this cd all over festivals in Galicia (A Rebusca, Antrospinos, Rebumbio, Castelo Rock, etc), venues and festivals in Europe (Kokopelli and Fiesta Mundial among others), finishing the year with the tour “15 días 15 bares” (15 days 15 bars), a marathon through Galicia playing 15 concerts in a row, making it clear that Chotokoeu is full of energy and having the will to continue working in a self-managed and original project where the aim is to spread energy, party and joy for everyone.
